Question:
A quote from you: “Women in general have a pretty twisted sense of body image. Those insecurities are personified when it comes to their vaginas.” Please elaborate.
Dr. Trina’s Response:
I feel because too many women have a “doughnut hole sensibility” around their vagina, they never develop a “relationship” with it. Every day a man gets to see his penis, touch it, move it out of the way and bring it out to pee. It is constantly interaction that makes for a deep relationship.
Women are never able to create an equally relaxed relationship to their vagina. Without that same vagina confidence, we constantly put into question whether it is good enough–i.e. putting their vagina’s sexual needs second to the penis.
As well, I am amazed at how many women are concerned their vagina is not symmetrical, or their vaginal lips are too droopy/ vibrant/ small/ large/ etc. I try to tell them that men (that is if men are their flavor of choice) LOVE to look. Men especially enjoy when their woman wants them to look. Women are so busy covering their vaginas they never give their partners or themselves a chance to truly enjoy what Mother Nature gave to them.
